Editorial Policy
This policy explains how SmartLivingHut content is produced and what you can expect from it.
Our standards
- Useful first. Every article should help a reader solve a real problem at home.
- Accurate. Facts, specifications and safety guidance are checked against primary sources such as maker documentation and public agencies.
- Specific. We avoid filler that could apply to any product or any home.
- Honest about limits. If we have not tested something, we say so. If savings or results depend on your circumstances, we say that too.
How an article is published
Every article moves through the same steps: draft, editorial review, fact check, search and accessibility check, then publication. An article cannot be published until it has passed each step.
Fact checking and sources
We check claims against primary and authoritative sources and list key sources at the end of an article where they add value. We do not state exact savings, performance figures or health benefits without a source.
Product research
Product recommendations follow the method described in How we evaluate products. Each one is labelled "Research-based recommendation" or "Hands-on tested".
Updates
Articles show the date they were published and the date they were last updated. Buying guides are re-checked on a regular schedule for prices, availability, working links and newer alternatives. "Last updated" changes only when the content has really changed.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and, for significant errors, note what changed. See our corrections policy.
Affiliate links and advertising
We may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site. Recommendations are chosen by our editors; retailers and brands cannot pay to be included in a recommendation or to change our verdict. Advertising is kept visually separate from editorial content. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Sponsored content
Content paid for by a company is clearly labelled "Sponsored content" at the top and names the sponsor.
Use of AI
We may use AI tools to help organize research, outline articles, draft text, write metadata and format content. AI output is never published automatically. A human editor reviews, fact-checks and takes responsibility for every article before it goes live.
Independence
If a commercial relationship ever limits what we can say about a product, we will either disclose that clearly in the article or not cover the product.
