Apartment dwellers, renters and homeowners in the United States and the United Kingdom who want practical answers: how to fit more into a small space, how to fix a noisy or stuffy room, which gadgets are worth buying and which are not.
How we approach a topic
We start with the problem, not the product. A typical guide explains why the problem happens, what you can do about it for free, which kinds of product can help, and only then which specific products are worth a look. Sometimes the right answer is to buy nothing.
How we evaluate products
Every recommendation is labelled as one of two things:
- Research-based recommendation. We compared specifications, maker documentation, warranty terms and owner feedback, but did not use the product ourselves.
- Hands-on tested. We used the product ourselves before recommending it.
